We are pleased to share that Prof. Gerik Scheuermann has received the 2025 Technical Achievement Award from the IEEE Visualization and Computer Graphics Technical Committee (VGTC). Prof. Gerik Scheuermann is the Director of ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig and Professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Computer Science at Leipzig University.

The award recognizes his long-standing contributions to scientific visualization. In particular, his foundational work in vector and tensor field visualization was honored, including advances in topological analysis, Clifford algebra transformations, information theory, feature detection, and higher-order tensor fields. Over the years, his research has influenced methods used across the natural, earth and life sciences.

The IEEE awards the Technical Achievement Award each year to one or two researchers worldwide. Prof. Gerik Scheuermann is one of only four scientists at a German university to receive this distinction. We congratulate Prof. Gerik Scheuermann on this well-deserved recognition!
