On August 18th 2023, Humboldt Professor Sayan Mukherjee joined the G20 meeting of health ministers in Gandhinagar, India. As an AI expert, he was invited to particiapte by German Federal Minister of Health, Prof. Karl Lauterbach.

During the flight, there was enough time for first discussions among the experts. Prof. Karl Lauterbach spoke to Prof. Sayan Mukherjee and other leading AI researchers about using Artificial Intelligence and other digital innovations in German healthcare. Furthermore, Prof. Sayan Mukherjee presented his research project and its potential for the medical field to the Minister of Health.

During the G20 meeting of health ministers in Gandhinagar, Prof. Sayan Mukherjee was able to meet with Indian experts, inclduing

  • Dr. Sajan Nair (Zydus Hospitals amp Healthcare Research Pvt Ltd) and
  • Dr. Vinod K. Paul, Member of NITI Aayog (National Institution for Transforming India).

The trip gave many opportunities to discuss using AI in the Indian and German healthcare systems. We congratulate ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig principal investigator Sayan Mukherjee for this success!
