On April 26th, a MeetUp on the application of Data Science and AI in life science will take place in Leipzig (Humboldstr. 25, 04107 Leipzig, 3rd floor). There will be three presentations from science and industry, which can then be discussed further in smaller groups and in a relaxed atmosphere. Add this event to you calendar (iCal).

Georg Popp, Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI
Presentation of computer-based methods for automated analysis of flow cytometric measurements to improve speed, accuracy and reproducibility of analyses.
Markus Kreuz, Fraunhofer Institute for Cell Therapy and Immunology IZI
The clinical course of prostate cancer is heterogeneous. Precise prognostic biomarkers are needed to support optimal therapy selection. Using survival time and meta-analysis methods, prognostic genes were identified based on gene expression measurements in tumour tissue and combined into a prognostic signature using statistical learning methods.
Sebastian Niehaus, Max Planck Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Sciences)
The quality of neural network predictions is highly dependent on the quality and consistency of the input data. If there is too much discrepancy between the training data and the data on which the neural network is applied, the prediction quality decreases. In clinical applications, this often leads to problems, as each prediction has to be checked manually. We present an alternative approach for automatic quality monitoring.
The number of participants is limited to 30 and 3G rules apply (subject to the Saxon Corona Protection Ordinance in force at the time).
