The TUTORIN:Grow Project

Our goal is to sustainably improve student success, with a particular focus on women, by preventing dropouts and professionalizing tutoring as scalable, equitable, and future-proof peer-to-peer support at TU Dresden.

We combine low-threshold peer-to-peer counseling, systematic tutor qualification, and the development of AI and digital skills. Tutors are supported by AI-based tools while being empowered to create their own subject-specific solutions, acting as multipliers who carry these methods into their departments and as role models who strengthen retention and employability.

What we do

Qualification for tutors and multipliers

  • Enabling tutors to independently develop and adapt AI-supported learning systems and chatbots without programming knowledge
  • Expanding the established methodological-didactic basic training for all subject tutors to include AI skills
  • Advanced formats on integrating chatbots into teaching and learning scenarios

Qualification for female students

  • Promoting gender parity in STEM and other subjects through targeted offers
  • Supporting female tutors as role models who motivate other students to stay in their programs

Digital resources

  • Developing freely accessible Open Educational Resources (OER) on AI and peer learning
  • Providing practical materials that help both tutors and students acquire future-relevant skills
