The TUTORIN:Grow Project

TUTORIN:Grow is a joint project of ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig and ZiLL (Centre for Interdisciplinary Learning and Teaching) at TU Dresden. The project is funded by the European Social Fund Plus (ESF Plus) and runs from April 2026 to March 2028.

Our goal is to strengthen student success at TU Dresden by further developing tutoring as an innovative, scalable and future-oriented support structure. In particular, the project focuses on empowering tutors as multipliers, supporting female students and exploring the potential of artificial intelligence for tutoring and learning support.

Through the collaboration of educational and AI expertise, TUTORIN:Grow develops and pilots innovative approaches that support both tutors and students in their academic journeys.

What we do

Qualification for tutors and multipliers

  • Expanding the established tutor qualification programme with AI competencies
  • Qualifying tutors as “AI Learning Designers”
  • Enabling tutors to develop and adapt subject-specific AI applications and chatbots without programming knowledge
  • Supporting tutors as multipliers who transfer innovative practices into their departments

Empowerment of female students and tutors

  • Supporting female students, particularly in STEM disciplines and fields with high dropout rates
  • Strengthening female tutors as role models and multipliers
  • Creating opportunities for networking, empowerment and personal development

Digital resources and AI-supported learning

  • Developing a tutoring AI platform based on Metis
  • Creating freely accessible Open Educational Resources (OER) on AI-supported tutoring and learning
  • Providing practical materials that help both tutors and students acquire future-relevant skills
  • Piloting innovative AI-supported support structures for studying and tutoring
