Artificial intelligence is known to offer enormous potential. Nonprofit organizations often lack the access or technical expertise needed to implement AI, use AI tools effectively, or even develop and deploy their own solutions. This is exactly where VoluLink comes in and the ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig Living Lab supports them in this effort.
VoluLink is a platform that bridges a critical gap. Through app.volulink.de, it brings together nonprofits, IT students, and experts around nonprofit IT projects. The goal is to channel digital resources and expertise from the private sector and universities to where they can have a positive social impact.
The collaboration with VoluLink offers ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig the opportunity to share knowledge, especially AI expertise, and put it into practice. Rather than remaining purely theoretical, this partnership generates practical use cases. It facilitates a direct transfer of state-of-the-art AI research into real-world, socially relevant applications.

The collaboration has already taken concrete shape. It demonstrates how research partnerships between ScaDS.AI, the University of Leipzig, and initiatives like VoluLink can work.
In this context, ScaDS.AI provided support through targeted consulting on system architecture, discussions about open-source alternatives, and the definition of approaches for evaluating RAG applications. This ensures that the AI solutions used are not only functional but also sustainable and of high quality.
