Meetup-DD: AI Expertise in Dresden

Meetup-DD: AI Expertise in Dresden
Transfer and Service

On October 27, 2026, we opened the doors to the Living Lab for the second edition of Meetup-DD. Under the motto “AI Expertise in Dresden”, host Dr. Christoph Lehmann brought together local AI experts and interested practitioners to share their use cases and get connected.

Encouraging Exchange Within the Community

Dr. Christoph Lehmann opened the Meetup-DD “AI Expertise in Dresden” with a quick introduction on ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig. He welcomed the participants and shared on overview of the program.

Thereafter, Adrian Zimmermann (insightformer) spoke on AI designing physical AI. He shared insights into how AI can help to develop intelligent physical systems. Drawing on his experience of automating scientific work and current developments in AI – such as the creation of CAD models and the control of robots – he provided an insight into new possibilities at the interface between AI and robotics. This covered specific approaches, unresolved questions and future prospects.

Afterwards, Georg Lempe (Grünspecht Vision Labs) highlighted the wide range of industrial applications for Vision AI. Using the examples of agriculture and production, he provided an overview of the current state of the art in technology. Speaking from his experience, he shared where AI can support work processes – and where he does not see it fit into the workflow. The talk sparked a lively discussion about the opportunities and risks associated with the use of AI.

Meetup-DD

After successfully establishing the meetup format in Leipzig, it now will also become a regular format in Dresden. We will publish upcoming events on the Meetup-DD page. Sounds interesting? Join the community! We are looking forward to welcoming many interested people, bridging the gap between science and practice. Small and medium-sized enterprises and start-ups, in particular, are warmly invited to take part. We look forward to bringing people together, facilitating collaborations and offering support for your AI use cases.
