On March 5, 2025, a group of pupils from Deutsche Schule Temperley visited our Living Lab in Dresden. In the framework of Expedition Campus, the argentinian pupils participated in a workshop on Artificial Intelligence. Furthermore, they gained an insight into the broad spectrum of studying opportunities in computer science and AI at TU Dresden.
Lena Jurkschat shared her own story as a former student and the continuation of her career in academia as a researcher at the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences (CIDS) and ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig. Currently, she is working on one of the prominent European-wide AI projects: OpenGPT-X. Lena Jurkschat has been an active member and speaker of various student communities. Her presentation was followed by a questions and answers session about the future of various fields of study in the advent of Artificial Intelligence.
Dr. Siavash Ghiasvand showcased how one can create a simple machine learning model even without having in-depth knowledge of programming languages using the asanAI framework. Afterwards, the pupils had the chance to explore various demonstrators in the Living Lab and discuss their questions.
