Autumn School 2021

From November 22-24, 2021, the German Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig) hosted the 7th International Autumn School on AI and Big Data. Due to the ongoing COVID situation, we continued our previous summer school program as an online event. The school was aimed at graduate students, Ph.D. students, researchers as well as practitioners starting or being active in the areas of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence and/or Big Data. Within the online program, we offered inspiring insights into various research areas by internationally recognized and well-known keynote speakers.

Program & Highlights

Thematically, we did not only focus on methods from AI and Big Data from the computer science perspective, but also offered an alternative from the legal and social point of view. In doing so we observed the influence of AI and Big Data methods on science, as well as on social processes.

The autumn school provided opportunities to exchange ideas and to discuss the topics with other participants and speakers. Within our program, we offered plenty of time to get in contact with the speakers. Moreover, we organized an online science get-together on the first day of the autumn school. The idea was to bring social aspects to an online environment. In this way, the participants were able to connect and collaborate with other international practitioners and researchers.

Below are short profiles of the selected keynote speakers. The full program with additional information about the given presentations can be found here.
