From February 16-20, 2026, Prof. Wolfgang E. Nagel, director of ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig and the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences (CIDS) at TU Dresden, joined the AI Impact Summit 2026 in New Delhi, India. The event brought together high-ranking representatives from politics and science, as well as executives from various international technology companies to discuss developments, framework conditions, and the social impact of AI. Prof. Nagel was among the invited guests of TU Dresden, whose participation and involvement in the program underscored the scientific excellence of the university and its active role in the global exchange on AI research and digital infrastructure.
Prof. Nagel was invited as a speaker for the session “Metrics, Methods and Platforms for Measurement of AI for Trustworthy, Reliable and Explainable Applications”. The session focussed on the key areas healthcare, manufacturing, mobility, and governance. It highlighted the translation of theory into real trustworthy AI applications, which is also an important aim of the research program at ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig. “Artificial intelligence is a key technology with enormous societal and economic potential. At the same time, it raises questions about responsibility, transparency, and trust. International dialogue is decisive for developing common standards and sustainable solutions,” emphasized Prof. Wolfgang E. Nagel in his conference presentation.
Furthermore, ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig was present at the German Pavilion together with TU Dresden and SpiNNcloud. Federal Minister Karsten Wildberger and his delegation visited the pavilion, allowing for an exchange on the strategic significance of sovereign German AI chip technologies within the broader digital strategy of Europe and Germany.
