ScaDS.AI (Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence) Dresden/Leipzig is a center for Data Science, Artificial Intelligence and Big Data with locations in Dresden and Leipzig. It is one of five new AI centers in Germany funded under the federal government’s AI strategy and is to be established as a permanent research facility. In 2024, we seek a Ada Lovelace Guest Professor/Researcher at Leipzig University. The goal of the Ada-Lovelace-Program is to invite excellent female professors or postdoctoral researchers for a at least six months to increase the diversity and visibility of our research and establish new collaborations.
The guests will serve as role models for junior academics in AI and in particular within ScaDS.AI. During their stay they will be involved in research at ScaDS.AI. Moreover, each guest is invited to share her experience in a public lecture about her research. Proposals for other formats of mentoring young woman in science are welcome.
The monthly funding consists of a lump-sum allowance of €3000 per month without compulsory social insurance. A one-time subsidy may be paid for the travel expenses of the guest researcher. The calculation basis (a copy of the travel itinerary) must be attached.
Researchers from outside Europe will need a work permit for the EU.
Earliest start of the funding: June 1st, 2024.
Eligible nominees are female outstanding researchers who are currently either professors, junior professors or exceptional post-doctoral researchers. The candidates should not be in current service or employment relationship with TU Dresden or Leipzig University or, generally speaking, must not have been employed by TU Dresden or Leipzig University during the last three years. Self-applications are possible until April 30th, 2024.
Candidates for the Ada Lovelace Guest Program are selected by a committee assigned by the ScaDS.AI Board which includes female representatives.
