Enhancing the Collaboration on AI in Medicine between Saxony and Taiwan

Enhancing the Collaboration on AI in Medicine between Saxony and Taiwan
Research

On 21.02.2025, ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig had the pleasure of welcoming Mr. Ching-Yun Huang (黃青雲), Economic Counselor from the Taipei Representative Office in Germany, and his team at the Living Lab in Dresden. This meeting was a continuation of our previous discussions, focusing on concrete strategies to expand the collaborations between Saxony and Taiwan, with a special emphasis on AI in medicine. The meeting provided interesting discussions, in which our team members Prof. Michael Färber, Dr. Siavash Ghiasvand, Dr. Anna Poetsch, Dr. Jan Ewald, and Dr. Markus Wolfien took part.

To accelerate this process in the future, we are planning a joint symposium as well as in-depth discussions in specific action groups. With that, we aim to foster a deeper understanding of each other’s research topics. Furthermore, we will create a platform for active and meaningful exchanges among international researchers.

Both Taiwan and Germany have made significant strides in AI, medical technology, and the digitization of patient data. By combining our strengths, we can unlock vast opportunities for innovation in AI-driven medicine and bioinformatics. This collaboration aims to push the boundaries of what is possible in healthcare, leveraging AI to drive leading-edge advancements and improve patient outcomes.
