At the 10th International Summer School on AI and Big Data, Prof. Oliver Koch will talk about AI in Drug Discovery – What can be done that could not be done before.
AI is expected to have a major impact on drug discovery. However, there is still debate as to which developments will truly revolutionise the drug discovery process, as computational methods and standard machine learning approaches have been transforming this process since the last century. In this talk, I will discuss its use in this area also in terms of underlying data availability and in the context of what can be done that couldn’t be done before.
Prof. Oliver Koch is a Heisenberg-Professor of Computational Drug Design and Member of the Center for Nonlinear Science (CENOS) at the University of Münster. His work has been honored with the Innovation Award in Medicinal/Pharmaceutical Chemistry for outstanding scientific achievements of a young researcher by the subdivision Medicinal Chemistry of the German Chemical Society (GDCh) and the subdivision Medicinal/ Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the German Pharmaceutical Society (DPhG) lately.
