As a rising star in science, technology and AI, China is increasingly attracting attention worldwide. Its leading research in the field of artificial intelligence holds the promise of enticing chances in connection with the question of where these developments are socially embedded. In the format of dialogue, Chi Ziesmann addresses China as a major player in artificial intelligence research in the context of ethics and gender. In doing so, he sheds light on ethical aspects, especially with regard to gender equality.
The Pillars and Umbrellas event series is organized by CitizenScience.AI. This is an interdisciplinary cooperation project of ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig and the Gender Equality Commissioner and Women’s Representative at TU Dresden.
Chi Ziesmann, a native of the People’s Republic of China, has been living in Germany for eight years. After his first technical studies in China, he studied Intercultural Communication at Chemnitz University of Technology. Since July 2022, he has been working in the office of the Gender Equality Commissioner and Women’s Representative at Dresden University of Technology as a coordinator in the CitizienScience.AI project.
