From 12.-16.05.2024, ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig presented their work at ISC High Performance 2024 in Hamburg. The team of ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig consisted of Prof. Dr. Wolfgang E. Nagel, Dr. René Jäkel, Dr. Siavash Ghiasvand, Lena Jurkschat, Neringa Jurenaite, and Elias Werner (TUD Dresden University of Technology) and was completed by colleagues from the Center for Information Services and High Performance Computing (ZIH), SpiNNcloud Systems GmbH, and Gauß-Allianz.
Program
Interesting discussions, a variety of pitch talks and demos, and much more awaited visitors at our booth L19 this year. We have thus continued our very successful participation from previous years, for example in 2023 and 2022, and are thankful for the opportunity to once again showcase our work to the HPC community. Current research activities were presented both in discussions and in the form of our Living Lab demonstrators to the audience. Focal topics included HPC, Big Data, Machine Learning, Image Segmentation, Image Recognition, and more. Furthermore, ZIH presented Vampir and PIKA at the booth, while our colleagues from the SpiNNcloud Systems GmbH brought interesting hardware: the SpiNNcloud board.
Pitch Talks
Together with Gauß-Allianz and ZIH, ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig has organized three pitch talks:
- Monday, 1-1:30 p.m.: GreenHPC projects EECliPs & EE-HPC (F. Engels, H. Bockelmann)
- Tuesday, 10-10:30 a.m.: SpiNNaker2 (M. Lohrmann)
- Wednesday, 2-2:30 p.m.: ICON development for exascale (F. Engels, H. Bockelmann)
The pitch talks gave an opportunity to focus attention on specific topics and talk about possible collaborations. Each pitch talk started with a quick presentation by the speakers. Afterwards, there was enough time to ask questions and get into a discussion.
Collaboration
This year, we joined forces with Gauß-Allianz whose booth was located right next to ours. By mutual agreement, we decided to open up the two exhibition stands to create one large space. In this space, Gauß-Allianz, ZIH, SpiNNcloud Systems GmbH and ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig all came together to jointly welcome the HPC community in Hamburg.
ISC High Performance 2024
The motto of ISC High Performance 2024 was „Reinventing HPC“. This year, the fair took place from 12.-16.05.2024 at Congress Center Hamburg (CCH) in Hamburg, Germany. More information is available on the official website.
