Korean Delegation Visits the Living Lab for Exchange on Ethics of AI in Education
Transfer and Service

On January 24, 2026, we welcomed a Korean delegation to the Living Lab in Leipzig to discuss the use of AI in education and the ethical implications. The delegation consisting of 75 people was led by the Director of the Seoul Metropolitan Office of Education Training Institute. Eric Roldan Roa and Dr. Thomas Burghardt joined this valueable exchange.

Eric Roldan Roa spoke about Personal Conversational Assistants (PCAs). PCAs are able to simplfy communication, provide information, and support tasks. Afterwards, he gave an insight into Play My Math (PMM). PMM – co-hosted at ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig and the Humboldt Science Center for Child Development (HumanKind) at Leipzig University – helps children to develop a deep conceptual understanding of complex mathematical concepts through collaborative music composition. In this game, users solve mathematical puzzles to keep composing and performing music.

Dr. Thomas Burghardt explained the methodology behind Living Labs to our guests. He shared how we were able to successfully build a Living Lab with locations in Dresden and Leipzig. Furthermore, he presented the success story of establishing a mobile classroom (DigiMoK) for schools in Saxony. DigiMoK has been realized in a cooperation with Helliwood media & education.
