Advances in digitalisation and the increased use of artificial intelligence offer innovative opportunities for the insurance industry through the integration of telematics systems. These systems continuously collect data on the driving behaviour of insurance customers, enabling insurers to optimise their risk assessment. Against this backdrop, this master’s thesis examines
the driving behaviour of telematics customers of the HUK-COBURG insurance group, particularly in connection with accidents. To this end, 3,302 accidents were evaluated. Methods from the field of descriptive and inductive statistics are used to examine the data
more closely and perform significance analyses. Finally, machine learning algorithms are used to create forecast models.
