Deriving the Potential of a Wall for Vertical Greenery through Computational Methods using LoD2, Image and Point Cloud Data

This master’s thesis explores how cities can use vertical greenery—such as green façades and living walls—to reduce heat and improve urban living conditions. Using 3D building models and street view images, the study developed a method to identify which walls in Leipzig are most suitable for greening by computing a variety of factors influencing if a wall can be greened.
