Building Bridges 2025: The Latest Findings in Artificial Intelligence
Transfer and Service

On September 11–12, ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig joined Building Bridges 2025. The conference showcased the latest findings in Artificial Intelligence and brought together researchers, policymakers, and industry leaders from Saxony, Poland, the Czech Republic, and the Baltic states. It took place at Festspielhaus Hellerau in Dresden. Building Bridges 2025 explored cutting-edge AI developments and their societal impact, while fostering cross-country collaborations. Learn more about the conference here.

Lightning Talks

Researchers from the network of ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig presented their work in four highly interesting lightning talks with interactive discussions:

  • AI and Health
    • Prof. Ivo Sbalzarini: The Rise of AI in the Life Sciences: Possibilities, Promises, Problems
    • Prof. Martin Sedlmayr: From Data Foundations to Ecosystems: Enabling AI in Healthcare Across Sectors and Disciplines
  • AI and Energy
    • Dr. Werner Dobrautz: Quantum, Classical, and Machine Learning Synergies for Next-Generation Energy Materials
  • AI and Microelectronics
    • Prof. Akash Kumar: Reducing AI Energy Footprint: Challenges, Trends and Opportunities

Being represented in each of the parallel sessions showcases the wide variety of research topics that are being worked on at ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig. We are thrilled to be able to foster this interdisciplinary ecosystem of members, associated members and partners right within our center and join such an important conference to further connect with the community.

Exhibition

Furthermore, we have been part of the exhibition by the Center for Interdisciplinary Digital Sciences (CIDS) at TU Dresden, which stands as an unparalleled example on how collaboration creates new ways of engaging with science. Together, the Interactive Science Lab, SynoSys, and ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig presented various interactive exhibits on digital sciences and AI that included immersive projections and hands-on exhibits. ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig has brought the demonstrators asanAI and Magic Mirror, which gave important insights into machine learning and generative AI.
