Practical Use and Governance of ChatGPT and Generative AI

ChatGPT and a new wave of so-called “generative AI” algorithms have quickly become the hottest topic in the technology industry. This new generation of algorithms represents a step-change in the capabilities of general-purpose AI, and it’s easy to see them being used to write code, to generate documents, write articles and reports, and much more. Business and technology executives are exploring the technology with eagerness. Nevertheless, with any emerging technology, there are risks and open questions about whether it can be used safely, effectively, and responsibly. This talk will address some of the real-world questions and concerns about the technology, provide some overview on how to assess AI risk, and forecast some of the reactive trends expected to emerge with regards to regulations and governance practices.
