On June 30th 2023, we celebrate 20 years of Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften in Dresden. From 5 p.m. to midnight, ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig takes part in Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften Dresden 2023 at multiple locations.
At Andreas-Pfitzmann-Bau of TUD Dresden University of Technology, we offer a program both at the Living Lab as well as in Room E023. You can visit Andreas-Pfitzmann-Bau at Nöthnitzer Str. 46, 01187 Dresden.
Image recognition, language understanding, data analysis and much more: Artificial intelligences accompany us in many areas of everyday life. But what can AI really do? This question is answered by ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig in the Living Lab. Here, the scientists use a wide variety of demonstrators to show what cutting-edge AI research at TU Dresden looks like.
You can find more information on our Living Lab program on the official website of Lange Nacht der Wissenschaften Dresden. The Living Lab is located in Room APB-1020.
The midissage of the exhibition “Chocolate Robots and Deepfakes” takes place at 5:00 p.m. More information on the comic Chocolate Robots and Deepfakes is available on our website. Exciting inputs await us from ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig initiator Prof. Dr. Wolfgang E. Nagel and Prof. Dr. Nadine Bergner, Chair for Didactics of Computer Science, Principal Investigator in ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig and co-organizer of the exhibition in Dresden.
At 6:30 p.m., visitors will have the opportunity to take part in a guided tour through the exhibition together with Kristina Laube. She is both co-author of the comic and a science communicator.
Afterwards, there will be a lecture on How AI is changing social communication – research from the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden by Prof. Dr. Lutz Hagen, communication scientist and speaker of the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden. In the Schaufler Lab@TU Dresden, scientists and artists deal with interactions between technology, art and science. The lecture will introduce the Lab and discuss relevant research taking the example of the consequences of AI for public communication.
You can read more about the program related to Chocolate Robots and Deepfakes here. The talks take place at APB-E023. The meeting point for the guided tours is the foyer of Andreas-Pfitzmann-Bau.
At COSMO Wissenschaftsforum, we will introduce you to asan.AI. With asanAI, you can train an artificial intelligence without any prior knowledge with your own images or even webcam data, but you can also use CSV files or any tensor data. With a mouse click, you can easily add layers to the AI model, remove them or change their settings. You don’t have to install asanAI – because it’s a website that runs in your browser of choice. You can also use asanAI on your smartphone!
Find out more about our program at Kulturpalast here. COSMO Wissenschaftsforum is located at Kulturpalast at Schloßstraße 2, 01067 Dresden.
