Due to the COVID-19 pandemic the German Center for Scalable Data Analytics and Artificial Intelligence (ScaDS.AI Dresden/Leipzig) decided to host the 6th International ScaDS.AI Summer School on AI and Big Data online. The event took place on July 7-8, 2020.
You can find detailed information about the online version of the Scads.AI Summer School 2020 in our summarizing blogpost: Virtual ScaDS.AI Summer School on AI and Big Data attracts international crowd.
A summer school has to provide opportunities to exchange ideas and to discuss the topics with other participants and speakers. Despite the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was plenty of time within our virtual program to connect with the speakers and each other. Moreover, we organized our first online science speed dating on the first day of the summer school. The idea was to maintain the social aspects of a summer school despite the isolating online environment. The speed dating allowed the participants to connect and collaborate with other international researchers.
